Toy Fair of 2005 will go down in history for HaPe International, the makers of Quadrilla. It is the year that Quadrilla was launched in the North American market with resounding success. Experts within toy testing groups loved it: the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio gave it their highest award: the platinum and it was featured on the NBC Today Show. Family Fun magazine tested it with kids and they couldn't get enough of it.
We're convinced that it is the combination of wood and good design that promotes such appeal. Quadrilla is an innovative series of colored blocks and rails that can be built up into incredible marble runs. But, these aren't just any marble runs --- these are contraptions of epic proportions. The use of different colored wooden blocks changes a marble's path. Constructing a marble run of your own is the fun part -- determing which block or rail to use and which path the marble will take. And, if you choose the Rail set, the teeter totter and switching bucket offer even more surprises.
Quadrilla is really a construction toy but should never be put away. It should be kept out on the game or coffee table year round to keep minds busy and ideas flowing. Its classic-colored blocks and natural rails look rather artful but certainly don't say "hands off." This is a definitely a hand-me-down or keep-forever toy, one that will endure hours of play by the kid at heart - both young and old.
